Similar to brainstorming, as much information and terms as possible are collected on cards (or post-its). Similar terms are sorted into corresponding groups. For the groups suitable generic terms are searched. For many terms additional subgroups can be formed. The groups are presented in a clear format on a board. If necessary, additional symbols (rings, clouds, arrows, etc.) can be drawn around groups or subgroups to clarify relationships. Based on the sorting, a final diagram is created or drawn. The resulting diagram can be summarized in writing. The formulation should be as neutral as possible and be done with little interpretation of the writer.
